See the Lehigh River Gorge by Train and Bike!
You and your bike will take a train ride on the Blue Mountain & Northern Railroad for 25 miles from Jim Thorpe to White Haven. You’ll then ride your bike along the D&L Trail through the Lehigh Gorge State Park back to Jim Thorpe.
This downhill trail has a hard packed and crushed gravel surface that allows easy riding for everyone! As you pedal along at your own pace, you will see fantastic rock formations, tumbling waterfalls, and abundant wildlife. Pack a lunch and picnic at one of the little picnic stops along the trail, explore the ruined locks of the former Lehigh Canal, or marvel at the Penn Haven Planes – a relic from the early railroad era.

- July – 20th & 21st (8:45am & 12pm boarding)
- August – 10th & 11th (8:45am & 12pm boarding)
- September – 21st & 22nd (8:45am & 12pm boarding)
- October – While there are no bike train dates scheduled for October, we do offer our regular shuttle services daily the entire month. Please click here for our regular shuttle schedule.
- November – 9th & 10th (8:45am boarding only)
BIKE TRAIN RESERVATIONS
Bike Train reservations are necessary and can be made by calling our Pocono Biking reservation office at 570.325.8430 OR The Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway directly at 570.325.8485.
BIKE RENTAL WAIVER
If you are renting a bicycle for the Bike Train, you can save time by downloading and filling out a Liability Waiver in advance. Don’t forget to bring the filled-out waiver along with you! One waiver is needed per person.
